Driving in Albania: what visitors should know
Renting a car is the best way to see Albania at your own pace. The main routes between Tirana, Durres and the coast are in good condition, and a car lets you reach places that buses simply do not go.
Drive on the right, keep your headlights on outside towns, and carry your licence, passport and rental documents at all times. Roundabouts and mountain roads can be busy, so take it easy and keep a safe distance.
Parking in central Tirana is easiest in a paid garage. For the coast and the mountains, fuel up before you leave the city and enjoy the views. If anything comes up during your rental, our team is only a call away.
